Children's Ministries at Shelby Presbyterian Church
Shelby Presbyterian Church is committed to walking alongside children and their families as they discover more about God, themselves, and the world around them through stories of faith and caring relationships.
Our ministries for children include weekly Sunday School, children's choir, summer Kids' Camp, First Communion Class for 2nd graders, Passport Kids Camp, and other opportunities for fellowship, service, and faith formation.

Wednesday Nights
Every Wednesday night during the school year, children ages 4-5th grade are invited to our Growing in Grace program from 6-7 p.m. weekly. This time together includes children's choir, Bible study, missions, and discipleship. We enjoy this special time together that culminates in either a Christmas program during Advent or a Spring Musical, rotating yearly.
Sunday Mornings
Every Sunday, we offer several programs for children of all ages. On Sunday mornings, children ages infant-preschool are invited to spend time in the nursery during Sunday School and worship from 9-11 a.m. each week with our caring nursery staff.
Children in preschool-5th grade are invited to attend Sunday School classes that are age divided from 9-10 a.m. each week. Children in this age group attend regular worship with their parents or caregivers. Weekly, one of our children in this age group chimes the Trinity at the close of worship. Seasonal Opportunities
Throughout the year, we have different opportunities for our children to learn, grow, and connect. All second graders have the opportunity for First Communion Class in September, leading up to World Communion Sunday in October. Children in 5th grade and older are invited to attend Catechism Class in the spring to learn more about their faith.
In the spring, we have an annual Easter Egg Hunt. In the summer, we have several opportunities for camp both at home and away. In the fall and winter, we have our annual Fall Festival, Hanging of the Green Service, Advent Celebration, and the Christmas Eve Friendly Beasts Puppet Show.
