In Advent, we anticipate the coming of Jesus, not only at Christmas, but in our hearts and the church by the Spirit, and his eventual return. Like Lent before Easter, it is a season of mindful preparation where we can grow in prayer and other spiritual exercises with hope, joy, love and peace. Let’s kick off Advent as a community with a workshop from 3-5 p.m. on November 27th where we can come together to learn about Christmas Around the World with stations featuring crafts and food tastings. This is a great opportunity for all of us, young and old, families and individuals, to grow as one church in fellowship, finding new ways to prepare for Christmas and making things to share with others.
